lard was our recipe. the kids enjoyed the process of mixing the 'paint' with their hands and with sticks until the mixture looked good enough to paint with. Then they began creating images on canvas boards. Most had a story to go along with the picture, just like real cave 
paintings. Dead cows and Bears and Volcanos, things like that...just like they did since the beginning of time.....
